GoodRx

Sep 24, 2019

Overview

The GoodRx app helps anyone save money on prescription drugs by allowing users to compare prices from different pharmacies and collect coupons. Drug prices vary by pharmacy, which is why GoodRx can help users find the cheapest place to fill their prescriptions – which can really help for someone with a condition like HIV. The app is available to download for free on iOS and Android devices from the App Store and Google Play.

Description

Using the GoodRx app is relatively simple – you can download the app and enter your condition to see all of the standard medications that are associated with it. From there, you can compare prices and see where all of the pharmacies are on the map to find the one that best suits your needs. You may even be able to find some coupons (as GoodRx collects coupons for you) and use the coupons at the pharmacy by either showing the app or printing them out.

No Account Necessary

With many medical apps, there is a concern that you’re going to be required to input all of your health, medical, and insurance information. This is not the case with GoodRx, as you do not even need an account to use it. The company doesn’t make money by collecting your personal information – it features advertisements on the site and referral fees to generate revenue.

What About Insurance?

You can use GoodRx whether or not you have insurance to cover the prescriptions. In fact, the app can help you save money even if you do have insurance, as the lower costs and coupons can make the drugs less than what you would pay with deductibles and copays.
