Overview
amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through support of research, HIV prevention, education, research, and advocacy. The organization has funded nearly $550 million in programs since 1985 and has given over 3,3000 grants for research around the world.
Description
The amfAR website features several different sections to learn more about their efforts. In the Research section, users can learn about new grants and studies. In Policy and Advocacy, there are various policy priorities, fellowships, and events to check out. There are also sections for TREAT Asia (which centers around treatment in Asia), About HIV/AIDS (where users can learn more about the basics and statistics), and the GMT Initiative (which funds research into reducing the spread of HIV among gay men.)
Research
The research section features information about the various grants that the organization offers and users can learn more about those efforts. The content is in written form but there are also well produced and informative videos about the research projects.
