Overview
The Elton John AIDS Foundation “raises funds for evidence-based programs and policies… to prevent infections, provide treatment and services, and motivate governments to end AIDS.” There are two foundations – one based in the United Kingdom that works in Europe, Asia, and Africa and the other based in New York that works in the United States, the Americas, and the Carribean. The New York and London foundations together have raised over $400 million over the past 28 years of the organization’s existence.
